Linked Subscription Provider is a special Provider

The Linked Subscription Provider is a special provider type in Work 365. It is used when a quantity change in one subscription should automatically update another subscription.

When to Use It

A common scenario:

• A hotel chain manages subscriptions at the location level, but the main subscription is provisioned at the parent level.
• Example:
  • Parent subscription: 100 Microsoft 365 E3 seats.
  • Seats are distributed across 5 locations.
• If you modify the quantity at a location level, the linked subscription:
  • Updates the parent subscription.
  • Provisions the change in the provider.
• Result:
  • Billing is handled at the location level.
  • Provisioning is managed at the parent level.
