GDAP Template

A GDAP Template represents a predefined GDAP setup. New requests can be created from this template, or the template can be designated to automatically create GDAP requests when a customer is onboarded.

Creating a GDAP Template

  1. Navigate to the Provider Management area and click on GDAP Templates
  2. Click on the + New button to open a new GDAP Template creation page.
  1. The GDAP Template creation screen has the following fields on the left-hand section.

    FieldDescription
NameA friendly name to identify the GDAP template.
CategoryAn optional category to associate with this GDAP request.
ProviderSince GDAP templates map security groups, a provider connection is necessary to retrieve security groups available in the Microsoft Entra ID associated with that provider.
Is DefaultFlag indicating if this template should be used as a default template. Multiple default templates are supported.
Auto-RenewFlag indicating if GDAP requests created from this template should auto-renew. Note that this field must be set to "No", if the GDAP template will assign Global Administrator directory role.
Duration (Days)The number of days for which GDAP requests created from this template will be valid. After this duration, requests with auto-renew will renew automatically and requests without auto-renew will expire. Templates that have Global Administrator role can have this value set to a maximum of 180 days.
  2. On the right-hand side of the GDAP Template creation is the role mapping control - this control is enabled once a Provider is selected and allows mapping of security groups in the Partner Tenant to directory roles in the Customer Tenant.

  3. Click on the + Add Group to start this mapping.

  1. Once the mapping is created it can be edited by clicking the pencil icon next to the mapping group.
